About the BBDA

Murder. Mayhem. Tea?

Tim Bremington thought his Saturday would be simple, just a quick stop to surprise his fiancée with flowers before her trip to China. Instead, he witnessed her kissing another man… and then got hit by a Meat Cakes food truck.

After a brief hospital stay, Tim hires Private Investigator Rose Kachel to figure out what is going on. But Rose is nothing like Tim imagined: quirky, snarky, and eccentric. When he insists on tagging along and offers to pay extra, she reluctantly agrees.

Before they know it, a basic fidelity case has evolved into a mystery surrounding a famous local donut establishment, murder, drug and human trafficking, and a family fighting to stay together in a new country.

Opposites, Tim and Rose must learn to trust one another and solve the case before a family is torn apart and they become the next victims.

Welcome to Portland, Oregon. Things are about to get weird.

About the Author

Mo Montgomery is a neurodivergent (dyslexic), disabled, queer writer, and this is her debut, so please be kind. She resides in lovely Portland, Oregon, with her husband Will, their two cats/overlords, a plethora of half-dead houseplants (RIP), and a growing herd of dust bunnies. Mo’s been a reporter, taught college business and marketing courses as an adjunct instructor, and currently works for a wildlife nonprofit in Oregon. Like Rose, she also has Ankylosing Spondylitis. She hopes to turn the Bluebell Detective Agency into a series. Mo has been known to dance in her kitchen while eating, resulting in her nearly choking to death multiple times. She does not recommend you try it.
